Removing the Salary Anomalies of the officers in Supra Class and Class I of Health Management Assistants’ Service who have been absorbed to o have been absorbed to Public Management Assistants’ Service from Health Management Assistants’ Service

Public Administration circular 30/2013 on dated 18.12.2013, take care about salary anomalies of Health Management Assistant Supra and Class I officers according the circular

  • Accordingly, the salary conversion of the officers who were in Class I and Supra Class of the Health Management Assistants’ Service before 15.10.2009, shall be prepared on hypothetical basis as follows only to rectify the salary anomaly.

    • The officers in Supra Class and Class I of Health Management Assistants’ Service who were absorbed to the Public Management Assistants’ Service with effect from 15.10.2009, shall not be considered as the officers belonged to Health Management Assistants’ Service which came into effect from 01.05.2003, only for the purpose of removing salary anomaly.
    • The officers mentioned above shall be considered as the officers who were absorbed to Public Management Assistants’ Service from the 01.01.2004 on which the Public Management Assistants’ Service came into effect and that they have been granted promotions as per the salary scheme of the Public

Management Assistants’ Service and all salary conversions shall be made accordingly

  • The matters mentioned in above shall be made applicable only for the salary conversion purpose and for all the other purposes the true date of absorption into the Public Management Assistants’ Service shall be made applicable.

  • Once the salary is revised as above, the revised salary shall be paid from 01.07.2013 without paying the arrears of salary.

  • Subject to the provisions of this circular the revised pension shall be paid with effect from 01.07.2013 to the officers who retired from service before 01.07.2013, without paying arrears of salary.

Around 20,536 candidates for Korean Language test

The Korean Language Proficiency Test for youth seeking jobs in South Korea will be held today and tomorrow at six schools in Colombo, the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) announced yesterday.

Around 20,536 candidates are eligible to sit for the examination held for the 11th occasion. The exam will be held in six schools - Nalanda, Gothami Balika Vidyalaya, Asoka Vidyalaya, D.S. Senanayake College, Isipatana and Thurstan College.

The SLBFE said candidates will not be allowed to carry cellphones or other electrical devices into the examination halls.

Also those who sit the examination should carry their passport with them as this a compulsory requirement.

According to Foreign Employment Promotion and Welfare Minister Dilan Perera, the exam will be supervised by officials of the Examinations Department.

The Police will be deployed at every centre to maintain security and SLBFE officials will be help conduct the examination.

This year's examination is held to select employees to the production, fisheries and construction sectors. The results will be issued on November 1 and the cut off mark will be announced later.

The Korean language proficiency examination is being held for the 11th time. Passing the test is the basic qualification for recruitment of Sri Lankan youth seeking jobs in Korea.

Around 25,000 Sri Lankans are presently employed in South Korea in skilled and semi-skilled trades. The recruitment process is carried out through an inter-government agreement
